Benchmark International has successfully facilitated a transaction between Florida-based Hole Montes Inc. (Hole Montes) and Virginia-based Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (Bowman).

An acquisition is a transaction in which one company purchases another or a portion of its assets. The acquiring company, also known as the buyer, assumes control of the target company, the seller, by purchasing its stock or specific investments.

Benchmark International is pleased to announce the sale of Leicester-based Air Projects to Witham-based EA-RS.

Air Projects is a specialist ventilation engineer working on healthcare and commercial projects from basic extraction systems to hospital theatres and laboratories. Air Projects also provides expert advice on an array of services in ventilation, fume extraction, fire damper testing and healthcare compliance.

EA-RS is a provider of intelligent, sustainable, and compliant fire and security systems in the UK. The company installs and maintains a broad range of systems covering critical infrastructures such as data centres and healthcare facilities and serves several other markets such as commercial property, education and social housing.

EA-RS has been backed by Rockpool Investments since 2021, and Air Projects is the seventh company EA-RS Group have acquired since last year.

This acquisition supports the group’s strategy to further broaden its geographic reach and to present new opportunities throughout the UK. Additionally, the transaction will expand both organisations range of services to their respective client bases, including fire damper testing for EA-RS' clients, facilitating growth and enabling synergies between all businesses within the group.

Benchmark International is pleased to announce the transaction between Winchester-based Vita Play and Bedfordshire-based Beds Construction.

Established in 2009, Vita Play provides turnkey solutions for children’s outdoor play spaces and environments, including fencing and street furniture, as well as specialist safety surfacing. Undertaking all work in-house, the company provides a complete service from design through to installation and maintenance. Operating from purpose-built facilities, the company primarily serve local authorities, schools, and private domestic clients across Hampshire and the surrounding counties.

Private equity backed Beds Construction is an established business in the construction sector. It seeks to pursue synergistic bolt-on opportunities with well-established companies that have a turnover between £1m and £15m, a strong balance sheet and a long operating history.

Eyebrows were raised earlier this week when one of the U.K.’s largest dog-walking franchise businesses, Barking Mad, was snapped up by AIM-listed Franchise Brands for almost £1 million. While the deal highlights a booming sector in the U.K., it also points to the attractions for acquirers that go beyond particular sectors or industries and gives crucial insight for business owners who are exploring options for partial or full exit from a business, or turning to outsiders for investment.
