Benchmark International is delighted to announce the successful sale of Systems Up Limited (SystemsUp) to iomart Group plc (iomart) in a deal worth up to £13 million.

London-based SystemsUp is a cloud computing facilitator for both the reseller market and public sector, focusing on IT technical consultancy for service providers and trusted partners alike. The company has a wide range of skill sets that include cloud strategy and migration services, system management, business continuity, storage and security.

Glasgow-based iomart is a leading provider of complex managed and cloud computing services. The company operates the chosen cloud computing marketplace through a number of specialist autonomous brands.

SystemsUp Managing Director, Peter Burgess, said on completion of the deal, “We have already built-up a significant reputation and expertise in helping organisations use public cloud to drive IT costs and improve efficiency. As part of iomart, we can leverage their award-winning managed services offering to deepen and widen our toolset to deliver a broader set of cloud services, alongside continuing to deliver the strategic advice and deployment of complex large public and private sector cloud projects.”

Over the last 15 years, the technology industry has experienced a high volume of M&A activity and the demand for cloud-based services is currently very strong from a variety of both domestic and international acquirers. Working on the SystemsUp project, Benchmark International generated over 100 interested parties, establishing significant competitive tension with several competing bidders brought to the table.

Everyone at Benchmark International would like to wish both parties well for the future.
