International M&A expert, Benchmark International, has successfully assisted with the sale of G.B. Access Limited (G.B. Access) to Ashtead Plant Hire Company Limited (A-Plant).
Formed in 1989, Peterborough based G.B. Access provides hoist equipment sales, rental, installation and training services, as well as boasting one of the largest rental fleets of Alimak rack and pinion hoists in Europe.
Warrington based A-Plant is a leading equipment rental company in the UK and has over 135 service centres nationwide and a team of more than 2,700 employees working across construction, infrastructure, events, industrial and government sectors.
Richard Thomas, managing director of A-Plant’s specialist products division, said: "GB Access is a long established and well respected hirer of hoists and this acquisition affords us new capabilities to even better serve our customers who use lifting equipment.
"We believe that the GB Access hoist hire product range, along with its dedicated team, will open up new specialist opportunities for us in this sector."
As a result of the takeover of GB Access, A-Plant now owns one of the largest rental fleets of Alimak and Stros construction hoists. GB Access will operate as an independent business within A-Plant's specialist products division.

The deal was closed in October 2015 for an undisclosed sum.
