Benchmark International Advises on the Deal Between Hi-Tech Products Limited to Siegwerk

Posted on April 18, 2017 By

Benchmark International are pleased to announce that a deal between Hi-Tech Products Limited and Siegwerk has been agreed.

Hi-Tech Products Limited was formed in 2004 by Wade and Helen Brealey. With 25 years previous experience managing another UK Ink company and working in the New Zealand and Australian Ink industry they decided to put that experience to good use. The company had clear goals and targets, so it grew very rapidly. Year on year Hi-Tech Products have grown 40-50% and they have increased factory size from the original 1200sqft to the current site of 16000 sqft. The company now produces over 100 tonnes of water-based ink every month. Quality and service has always been of the highest priority and due to this, Hi-Tech Products has continued to grow. This latest move has allowed the company to invest into the new site with not only new experienced personnel but with new equipment.

Speaking on the deal, Wade Brealey, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Products Limited had this to say: “We are delighted to have found in Siegwerk a great partner and a new owner for our company. Over the last years we have built a solid company with innovative technology and excellent customer service, I’m convinced that Siegwerk can integrate our offering into their larger structure and thus advance it on the market. After 12 years, I would like to thank all of our customers for their support and to our staff for the many years of dedicated service. In the future, we hope to spend more time closer to our family in New Zealand.”

Siegwerk’s company philosophy is Ink, Heart & Soul and it incorporates what their customers experience every day. Siegwerk know their business and produce inks and individual solutions in close co-operation with their business partners. They are steeped in tradition, yet practice-oriented and with state of the art technology. With more than 180 years of experience, Siegwerk commands a profound product knowledge and expertise for many printing methods. With currently 5,000 staff in more than 30 country organizations they are able to supply and support every customer anywhere in the world.

“Hi-Tech Products Limited is an established and well-known water-based ink supplier in the U.K. The company’s ink solutions and coatings perfectly complement our water-based ink portfolio. This merger enables us to expand our local footprint in the UK and therefore to continue raising our profile as a supplier of water-based printing inks in Europe,” said Dirk Weissenfeldt, Vice President Paper & Board and Liquid Food Packaging at Siegwerk.

The integration of the acquired products into Siegwerk’s water-based ink offering will enable customers from Hi-Tech Products Limited to benefit from a more comprehensive product portfolio and the wider technological expertise offered by Siegwerk as well. Both companies target their solutions specifically at the customer’s individual needs. This perfect cultural fit will support a smooth transition and will simplify the integration process going forward.

On behalf of everyone at Benchmark International, we would like to wish both parties every success for the future.
