PPrivate-Equity-Transaktionen auf globaler Ebene kehrten im Jahr 2021 nach den Herausforderungen der Pandemie zu ihrer Form zurück, wobei Private-Equity-Firmen Rekordmengen an Trockenpulver einsetzten, als sie versuchten, während der Pandemie angesammelte Barmittel zu investieren.

Laut Mergermarket wurde ein Rekord für den Prozentsatz der M&A-Transaktionen aufgestellt, an denen Private Equity beteiligt war, wobei Buyouts 27 % der weltweiten Aktivitäten im Jahr 2021 ausmachten. Dies belief sich auf insgesamt 8.548 Transaktionen im Wert von 2,1 Billionen US-Dollar, was den bisherigen Rekord aus dem Jahr 2007 fast verdoppelte ebenfalls erstaunlich, mit einem Anstieg von 60 % gegenüber dem Vorjahr.
