Benchmark International is Cleaning for a Cause in 2021

Benchmark International HQ is currently participating in the Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful initiative, specifically the Adopt-A-Road program for the next two years to promote environmental stewardship, team building, and to keep our city and streets beautiful.

The Adopt-A-Road program is a great opportunity for corporations to give back to the community through stewardship of public right-of-ways, parks, and shorelines. Adoptions greatly enhance the appearance of our communities and go a long way in reducing litter and debris from entering our waterways and polluting the natural habitats of our native wildlife.

The Tampa office has officially adopted the stretch of road from W Boy Scout Blvd/W Columbus Drive, and as part of the program, is responsible for at least four cleanups a year.

Recently, the Tampa office participated in its first official cleanup of 2021. There were 15 volunteers that split up into two teams that covered the two-mile stretch of road to pick up debris, enjoy the Florida sunshine and fresh air, and got to wear very fashionable safety vests and use trash grabbers.

The staff was able to enjoy an afternoon of team bonding, cleaning up for a good cause, and remembering in the process to keep Tampa beautiful.

The goal is to have the entire office volunteer over the year to get to know their team members more and again give back to an amazing cause.

Benchmark International is honored to be a part of this initiative and looks forward to the upcoming Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful cleanups in the months to come. Learn more about how you can support or get involved with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful - https://www.keeptampabaybeautiful.org/

Giving Santa a Helping Hand

Cash for Kids launches Mission Christmas each year to provide gifts for children who may not receive a present under the tree on Christmas Day. In this tumultuous year, the charity needs donations more than ever as more families unexpectedly face poverty.

Working with community organisations, social workers, schools, other charities and the emergency services, Mission Christmas ensures gifts donated reach children living in poverty.

Inspired by the work the charity does, Benchmark International decided that in place of gifts for suppliers it would donate presents to Mission Christmas, which will be distributed to disadvantaged children across the North West, hoping to bring some Christmas cheer to families during these difficult times.

The donations were a success and were well-received by the residents and those working at the facilities.

Keen to find another way of supporting people who have been in need during these unprecedented times, Benchmark International, in collaboration with Lantec, partnered with the same local charity, PCrefurb, to donate 32 refurbed PCs to disadvantaged people.

Benchmark International Volunteers At The Central Texas Food Bank

Benchmark International continuously thinks of ways to give back and support its local communities, especially during this time of safe social distancing. The Benchmark International Austin office showed their support to the community this week by volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank.

The Central Texas Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief charity in Central Texas. They help about 46,000 people per week, with one-third of them being children, get the nutritious food they need and otherwise wouldn't be able to afford. The food bank serves 21 counties in Central Texas through partnerships and smaller pantries.

Our team, along with others from the community, boxed 4,360lbs of food, which will serve 3,625 meals. This effort was completed while maintaining social distancing guidelines.

Benchmark International was honored to volunteer and contribute to the Central Texas community. Learn more about how you can support the Central Texas Food Bank - https://www.centraltexasfoodbank.org

Benchmark International Provides Equipment to Keep In-Patients and Residents in Touch with Loved Ones

It is now well-documented that care homes have been closed to visitors since early March, leaving already vulnerable residents feeling isolated and cut off from family and friends. Hospices and hospitals have also been forced to put severe visiting restrictions in place to protect people in their care.

In many instances, it has been the carers, themselves, going above and beyond by letting those in their care use their own personal devices to reach a family member, and to keep in touch with loved ones by video, particularly where the residents do not otherwise have access to technology.

In the most tragic cases, the devices are used by patients saying goodbye to their loved ones for the last time.

Like many businesses, Benchmark International has been keen to find ways of supporting those on the frontline. As a technology-driven business, we are fortunate to have facilities that enable seamless communication around the world, and we recognised an opportunity to make the same facilities available to the most vulnerable in our community, with the hope of bringing them some comfort during difficult times.

Benchmark International Donates 400 Pizzas to Local Tampa Hospital to Feed Frontline Heroes

There is great need all around us. During COVID-19 and this time of social distancing, many local businesses are considering ways of how to give back and do their part to support their local communities and businesses.

Benchmark International founders Steven Keane and Gregory Jackson showed their support to the community by purchasing 400 pizza pies over a two-day span from their favorite pizza place - Grimaldi’s Pizzeria in Tampa, FL to be able to feed the healthcare professionals at Tampa General Hospital (TGH).

Steven Keane and Greg Jackson hand-delivered the pizzas this past Tuesday and Wednesday to provide food to the frontline healthcare workers who are selflessly working each day to provide help and comfort to thousands of in-need patients.

As a team, Benchmark International and Grimaldi’s Pizzeria was able to set a few new Grimaldis records.

The records consisted of the following:
• The most pizzas to be in the oven at any one time
• The largest single order – 200 pizzas in one order
• The largest single order two days in a row – Totaling 400 pizzas

Benchmark International was honored to be able to provide this contribution to their local community and also the healthcare workers at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and would like to thank Jeff, Rick and the Grimaldi’s team who work so hard to help make this happen.

Benchmark International volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Tennessee

Benchmark International office in Nashville, Tennessee took part in the Second Harvest Food Bank donation efforts. This organization gives back to the communities of Tennessee through donations and volunteers committed to providing nutritious meals to those in need.

Managing Partner, Tyrus O’Neill, worked with his team to host this event. Half of the team participated on Thursday October 17, 2019, and the other half of the team will participate this Thursday October 24, 2019. He stated that he is glad his team has the opportunity to participate in a good cause for the community.

“The impact of hunger in the local community is an often-overlooked issue. Malnutrition and hunger, especially in children, can cause lasting developmental and health issues,” O’Neill said. “Local organizations like the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee do a great service to the community and is an organization we proudly work with. The Nashville office of Benchmark International looks forward to the continued efforts of Second Harvest Food Bank and the role we can play in helping the local community thrive.”

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee opened its doors in 1978 with commitment from several community leaders. The purpose of the organization was to provide a central distribution center for companies, groups, and individuals who wished to help provide food for hungry people in Middle Tennessee. Their mission is to feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in their community.

Since its inception, Second Harvest Food Bank of Tennessee has grown to be one of the largest and most comprehensive of more than 200 food banks and food distribution centers nationwide. In 2018 alone, Second Harvest distributed more than 30 million pounds of food to more than 460 Partner Agencies, providing more than 28 million meals to hungry children, families, and seniors throughout their 46-county service area.

This is a tangible way for the Benchmark International team to give back to the community and make an immediate impact in the lives of children in need. The team is preparing a total of 6,000 sack lunches for children, in afterschool programs, who don’t always know where their next meal will come from.

Administrator Deborah McManman organized the event for the Tennessee office. She stated, “I’ve heard so many amazing stories about the work done at Second Harvest Food Bank I knew it would be a great place for our office to volunteer,”

This experience allows everyone to see how just a few hours can make a real difference in the community. The team bagged food, and it’s a simple task, but it makes a difference in the lives of children. It gives them the ability to go to sleep on a full stomach and go to class with more energy. The Tennessee team looks forward to taking part in this event again in the future.

Benchmark International is proud to be able to participate in such worthy causes as this of Second Harvest Food Bank of Tennessee. Giving back to our local communities in any way we can is a central part of our work culture. Thank you to all the team members who participated.

Benchmark International Sponsors Valspar Snake Pit 2018

Once again, Benchmark International had the pleasure of hosting the Snake Pit at the Valspar Championship in 2018. The Valspar Championship is a professional golf tournament that is part of the PGA tour. It is based out of Palm Harbor, FL at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.

This year brought the largest non-masters television audience since 2015. There were more than 30,000 attendees to this year’s event as well. No doubt, Tiger Woods’ participation played a role in the traffic that passed through for this four-day event. His long-anticipated return certainly upped the ante at this year’s event.

The “Snake Pit” is the name given to the final three holes at Innisbrook’s Copperhead course. Hole 16 has been dubbed one the most challenging holes on the PGA Tour. Benchmark International hosted the main event tent, which was located in this area near the green off of hole 17.
